Special Meeting Regarding Merger w/ Harrisville Water Dept.

PUD in conjunction with HWD is issuing a notice of outdoor water restrictions until further notice. Water levels are down, causing wells to pull air into the system, resulting in cloudy water. The restrictions consist of the following: irrigation of lawns via sprinklers or automatic irrigation systems, filling swimming pools, washing of vehicles, washing exterior buildings, parking lots, driveways and sidewalks. Watering vegetable gardens and maintenance of livestock is allowed. We ask that everyone please help to conserve water whenever possible.

This post will be taken down as soon as the water ban is lifted.

Thank you for your cooperation!

Dear Pascoag Utility District Customer,

There will be a Special Meeting on Monday, January 14th, 2001 to vote upon the proposal to merge the Pascoag and Harrisville Water Departments. This meeting will be held at the Burrillville High School Auditorium at 7:00PM.

As I am sure you are aware, the bottom line issue is the provision of clean water to the Pascoag Water customers by the Harrisville Fire District from their new wells at Eccleston Field.

This meeting is absolutely critical to determine how you, the owners of the Pascoag Water Department, want your Board of Utility Commissioners to proceed.

In view of the fact that the RI DEM has advised us that the Carbon Filtration Plant will not be available to Pascoag beyond what they consider a reasonable additional time, we must receive your direction on this date.

The General Manager will be available, as will the Board of Utility Commissioners, to answer your questions regarding what, if any, alternatives to this merger were considered.

For purposes of canvassing and correcting the list of qualified voters, there will be a Board Meeting on January 9, 2002 at 5:00 PM. This meeting will be held at the Pascoag Utility District office located at 253 Main Street, Pascoag, RI.
