Burrillville High School Athletic Field Scoreboard Relocation

PUD in conjunction with HWD is issuing a notice of outdoor water restrictions until further notice. Water levels are down, causing wells to pull air into the system, resulting in cloudy water. The restrictions consist of the following: irrigation of lawns via sprinklers or automatic irrigation systems, filling swimming pools, washing of vehicles, washing exterior buildings, parking lots, driveways and sidewalks. Watering vegetable gardens and maintenance of livestock is allowed. We ask that everyone please help to conserve water whenever possible.

This post will be taken down as soon as the water ban is lifted.

Thank you for your cooperation!

We at Pascoag Utility District are extremely pleased to have worked with Burrillville High School in relocating an electronic scoreboard from Eccleston Field to the Gledhill soccer field on the high school property. The Gledhill field has a higher usage in terms of competitive sports such as high school soccer, where having the score visible from anywhere in the vicinity of the field is a great advantage. As can be seen in the photos below, the relocated scoreboard is much larger and more visible than the existing scoreboard at the Gledhill field (both old and new scoreboards are in the photos… the old scoreboard will be removed shortly).

The project started when school committee member Ray Trinque asked if we at Pascoag Utility might be willing to provide a little time from our operations crew together with our heavy equipment to help with the relocation of the scoreboard. PUD immediately saw the value in helping out such an important neighbor as our town school department, and we asked Bill Guertin, Assistant General Manager of Operations, to lead the effort for Pascoag. Ray put Bill in touch with Jim Woodward, Burrillville school department Facilities Director, and both of these gentleman and their staffs made this happen in a short period of time. In fact they were able to take advantage of the unseasonable weather to get this accomplished in February, which is amazing considering the conditions we had faced here in Burrillville during the past winter period.

From all of us here at Pascoag Utility District, we wish the Burrillville teams who utilize the great facilities provided by the Recreation Department a very successful 2012 season.
