Annual Hydrant Flushing Maintenance Scheduled for May 13th-May 17th

PUD in conjunction with HWD is issuing a notice of outdoor water restrictions until further notice. Water levels are down, causing wells to pull air into the system, resulting in cloudy water. The restrictions consist of the following: irrigation of lawns via sprinklers or automatic irrigation systems, filling swimming pools, washing of vehicles, washing exterior buildings, parking lots, driveways and sidewalks. Watering vegetable gardens and maintenance of livestock is allowed. We ask that everyone please help to conserve water whenever possible.

This post will be taken down as soon as the water ban is lifted.

Thank you for your cooperation!

The Harrisville Water Department and Pascoag Water Department will be performing annual maintenance flushing of hydrants on Monday May 13th through Friday May 17th between the hours of 9:00 AM and 3:00 PM.  This may cause some discoloration to the water in your service lines for a short period of time each day, as we remove sediment built up in the mains over the last year from all areas of the distribution system.   If you do experience discolored water, please run your water tap or taps until it clears-up.  Running the outside tap first, if you can, will help keep the discoloration from your internal plumbing.  Try not to run the hot water until the cold water lines are clear to keep sediment out of your hot water tank.  We apologize for the inconvenience while we perform this extremely important annual maintenance on our system.

Thank you for your cooperation and patience!
